Welcome to Walker House—a serene retreat and hospitality space in Garden City, NY, just one block from the Cathedral Close. We warmly invite individuals and groups seeking peace and spiritual communion to come and stay with us.

Celebrating 100 years since its construction in 1924, Walker House was home to three generations of the Betz family. Now, under the stewardship of the Diocese of Long Island, it continues a family tradition of hospitality—welcoming guests from near and far.
The Cathedral Close—A 22 acre sanctuary of open greenspace in the heart of Long Island’s Garden City.
The Cathedral of the Incarnation can be found one block north of Third Street. On the Close you will find the Cathedral itself along with The Office of the Bishop, The Mercer School of Theology, and See House—the historic residence of the bishops of Long Island. The Close is a beautiful space worth exploring. Verger guided tours of the Cathedral are available upon request.
